Homemade Air Fryer Granola
Made with 7 ingredients, our Air Fryer Granola recipe is easy to make and cooks in just 10 minutes. We love this versatile dish for breakfast, snacks and more (be sure to read to the end for more serving ideas).
If you’ve ever bought granola at the grocery store, you probably noticed it’s EXPENSIVE! Especially if you are shopping for boutique brands, organic or low sugar versions. You’ll be saying “goodbye!” to grocery store granola after making this easy homemade version.
While this recipe is good on it’s own, feel free to change it up to suit your family’s preferences. Or change the flavorings. Or even reduce the sugar or make it gluten free if you want to. There are so many ways to make it your own.
And if that’s not enough to convince you, making granola in the air fryer couldn’t be any easier! It’s a lot faster than baking in the oven so you can make this breakfast or snack food any time you get a craving. It’s also easy to make multiple batches if you’re into meal prepping.
I use the Cosori air fryer, and it has been great if you are shopping for a new model or want to upgrade.
Ingredients for Air Fryer Granola
old fashioned rolled oats – for a gluten-free version, Bob’s Red Mill is a great option
coconut oil – if you buy the kind that is thick, it needs to be melted then cooled before using
maple syrup – go for the real deal (it makes a difference)
light brown sugar – you could also use coconut sugar or maple sugar
vanilla
cinnamon
Kosher salt
How To Make Homemade Granola in the Air Fryer
In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix them together.
Then wrap the interior of your air fryer basket with aluminum foil. You want to make sure the bottom is covered and go about an inch up the sides of the basket.
Pour in the granola mixture, making sure it’s in an even layer.
Air fry at 350 degrees F for about 10 minutes. Periodically open the basket to stir it around to help break up any clumps.
Once it has finished cooking, transfer the granola to a baking sheet and let it cool down for about 15 minutes before serving. If you are going to store it immediately, let it cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
Tips for Making
- Keep a close eye on the granola while cooking – it can burn easily.
- If granola doesn’t crisp up, return to the air fryer and cook for a couple more minutes.
- Store in an airtight container on the counter for up to 7 days.
Can You Make Homemade Granola in the Oven?
Yes! Combine all of the ingredients and instead of transferring it to the air fryer basket, pour it onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet and smooth it into an even layer.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally to keep large clumps from forming. Bake until it’s as crispy as you like.
Once it’s done cooking, move the parchment paper with the granola off of the pan and set it on the counter to cool.
