Change up pizza night with our Air Fryer Calzones. Made with all your favorite pizza ingredients they make for an easy lunch, dinner or snack your entire family will love.
Using a cookie cutter or bowl, cut out 5” circles.
Spread about a tablespoon of pizza sauce on half of the dough circle. Add cheese and pepperoni (don’t overstuff the dough).
Fold opposite side over to form a half circle. Crimp edges with a fork or a pastry crimper.
After air fryer has preheated, lightly oil the basket or use a parchment liner. Place calzones in the air fryer basket and cook for 5 minutes. Flip and cook for 2 more minutes, or until golden brown.
Let cool before eating.
Notes
Recipe will make 5-6 calzones depending on the amount of dough you are using.
Room temperature dough works best.
Optional dipping sauces: marinara, Ranch, garlic butter sauce and Sriracha.
To freeze: make calzones as directed up to cooking. Place uncooked calzones on a sheet pan and flash freeze for 4 hours. Transfer to a freezer-safe container. To reheat from frozen: cook at 375 degrees F for 10-12 minutes, until heated through and golden brown. Check at the 8 minute mark and adjust time if needed.
